Nearness Gone Wrong: When Leaders Fail

Whenever Christian leadership parts company with Christ, either in its content or its character, people are damaged and God is dishonored. Where we hope to find nearness to God and holiness of life, we see instead favoritism, arrogance, fear, and control. Where we hope to find blessing and sacrificial living, we see instead every kind of evil that comes from the abuse of power. How can we identify and guard against such errors, not only in others, but also in ourselves?
