Peter Meets Jesus

In this article, Timothy Keller presents a sermon from John 21:1-17. He argues that this vividly detailed story after Jesus’ resurrection communicates four beautiful things about who Jesus is, what He came to do and how we should relate to Him. It gives a picture of: (1) The unity of the gospel (Jesus creates community), (2) The forwardness of the gospel (Jesus elicits extreme reactions), (3) The surgery of the gospel (Jesus means that no matter how you’ve blown your life you can start over), and (4) The intimacy of the gospel (Jesus invites people to come to him).
