Forrey argues that one’s “heart attitudes” direct communication choices. He maintains that communication involves listening as well as speaking. Forrey concludes that Ephesians 4:25-32 lays out four rules of verbal communication: Falsehood vs. Truth, Bitterness vs. Reconciliation, Unwholesome vs. Edifying words, Malicious vs. Gracious talk.
