Paul David Tripp
Journal of Biblical Counseling 14:3
Part 2 of a 3 part series. In this article, Paul Tripp maintains that counselees depend on counselors to enter their world with a godly perspective that will help them break through their own blindness. We will never be able to offer that to them unless we have submitted our own lives to the searchlight of Scripture. Tripp maintains that counselors who have made that commitment will develop several qualities essential to helping their counselees. He continues with a discussion of objectivity, wisdom, Gospel clarity and purpose that counselors can bring to the interpretations that counselees are making of life. Part 1 is in JBC 14:2, Part 2 in JBC 14:3 and Part 3 in JBC 15:1.
