Godly Intoxication

In this audio talk, Tim Lane maintains we have a Redeemer who often uses our struggles to remind us of our utter dependence on him for life. Christians cannot “wean themselves” from the grace of Christ—we always desperately need his grace and love. Because this is true, we need to consider if the church is the place that addicts can go to find the best help. Lane challenges us to consider, “How do we bring the church forward to meet the needs that addictions bring to it?” He concludes we carry out this task by leading addicts to become intoxicated by the work of the Holy Spirit, and to put themselves under the Spirit’s influence instead of their addiction.
