Sam Williams’s “Counselors as Missionaries” applies the fact that Christian faith expresses God’s missionary impulse. Part of the calling of Christians who counsel is to serve as missionaries to the mental health world. Of course, counselors will always seek to redeem strugglers who ask for counseling help. But Lady Wisdom also calls out to the highly secular counseling subculture that surrounds us: “Turn and live!” (Prov 9).
