Pharmacology for Pastoral Counselors: Part III

Part 3 of a 3 part series. In this series, Woodrow Wendling provides basic information about pharmacology, drugs of abuse, prescription and over the counter (OTC) drugs that every Christian counselor should have at hand. In this article, Wendling addresses additional anti-anxiety drugs including barbiturates, sedative/hypnotics, Buspirone (BuSpar) and beta blockers. He concludes his article with a discussion of a biblical approach to dealing with anxiety and seven guiding principles in counseling those with anxiety.
