Part 4 of a 4 part series. This article is the fourth of four lectures given by Jerome Strickland at the 1980 June Institute. In this article, Jerome Strickland discusses the issue of religious liberty and civil freedoms. Strickland discusses the precedents set by the Supreme Court in the area of the First Amendment. He concludes his article with a discussion of malpractice and negligence as well as the broader cultural context in which pastors conduct their ministry.
