In this article, Os Guinness shows the danger of psychology exceeding proper bounds and growing into an alternative worldview and an alternative gospel. Guinness argues that the therapeutic offers eight alternatives to the gospel—all deceptive and all substitutes for God: An alternative authority; An alternative worldview; An alternative language of skepticism; Alternative priests; An alternative pathology; An alternative self; An alternative faith and An alternative salvation.
