In this audio talk, Paul Tripp maintains that every relationship we have ever had has disappointed us at some time. You will never understand the experience of relationships until you fully understand where you live everyday. The world we live in is like a broken-down house that is in need of restoration. When we live in a house that is being restored, things get messy. The Bible tells us why we are all disappointed with our relationships: 1.) The fallen world mess; 2.) The sin mess (the essence of sin is antisocial – it breaks relationships); 3.) The devil’s mess; and 4.) The God who is in the mess. The Bible is very honest about relationships between the “already” and the “not yet.” In the Gospel, broken people encounter a Messiah who was broken so that we may be made whole.
