The Psychiatrist's Toolbox: When all one had was Prozac, everything looked as though it needed more serotonin. These days the number of medical treatments for psychiatric disorders continues to grow rapidly and beyond just medications. This session will orient you to the major somatic treatments available, their possible benefits as well as potential risks.

John Applegate is an MD Board Certified Psychiatrist. Dr. Applegate has been in private practice in Philadelphia since 2005. He teaches medical students from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, holds an appointment as Clinical Associate with the University of Pennsylvania Department of Psychiatry and provides supervision for psychiatric residents-in-training learning psychotherapy.
