In the story of redemption, Jesus subjected himself to something that was of absolute necessity and ended in ultimate joy. He subjected Himself to everything we fear and want to avoid in relationships so that we could love as He loves. Jesus is the One who shares your disappointment – His rejection was for your rescue. Romans 7 helps us understand that sin is a law, a war, and a jail. If sin is a law, a war, and a jail – the only thing that will help you is rescue. Sin is described as self-centered, self-rule, self-sufficient, self-taught, and self-satisfied. Jesus took our sins upon Himself. He came and accepted the worst job description because it was an ultimate necessity and, at the end, led to ultimate joy.
