This is part 4 of a 4 part talk: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Depression is a common human experience, but one that is especially resistant to change. This workshop will review ways to partner with depressed people as they go through the change process. It will consider critical biblical themes, current views on depression, and the use of psychiatric medications.
In the last of this four-part talk, Ed Welch continues his discussion about medicine and depression from a biblical perspective. He encourages a wisdom approach to the question of medications that is based on each situation. Welch also explores other common struggles associated with depression including: failure, shame, and suicide. He concludes his talk with an exploration of the biblical themes of humility, hope, joy, and thankfulness and discusses a way forward.
