Counseling Strategies for Individuals with Addictions. Addicts present unique challenges to counselors. This elective will explain counseling goals and practical strategies common to a wide variety of problems associated with addictive behaviors, attitudes, and motivations.
This lecture is from the 2008 National Conference, “The Addict in Us All.”
Dr. Phil Monroe is Professor of Counseling and Psychology at Biblical Seminary. He is a licensed psychologist and practicing counselor at an area Christian counseling center. His primary passion lies in enabling the church to minister to hurting individuals and his focus is helping counselors build effective counseling skills and relationships so that lives may be transformed and give glory to God.
