This is part 3 of a 4 part talk: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4
In this audio continuation of the workshop, Howard Dial examines Romans 12 as a paradigm to help with missionary care. The local church is the training ground for foot soldiers in the mission field. Dial covers the following points related to missions: 1.) Missionary care begins in the hearts of God-loving, Bible-thinking, Christ-centered people; 2.) Missionary care embraces the ministry of hospitality as an expression of Christ’s love for the church; 3.) Missionary care enlists all members of the congregation (beware of a ‘missions club’ mentality); 4.) Missionary care refuses to relinquish responsibility for its missionaries to an organization outside of the church; 5.) Missionary care requires a church that is engaged in a grace-giving approach to finances; and 6.) Missionary care takes place most effectively when the caregivers visit the springs of the heart. The session ends with Q & A on missions in the church.
