A Time to Step Back?: God’s Purposes for Relational Distance

God’s redemptive love enables us to draw near to him and experience intimacy with one another. It may sound antithetical, then, to say that honoring others will, at times, require us to allow for or even create distance in our relationships with them. In this breakout, we will look at God’s purposes for relational distance— in relationships where intimacy is desired but unattainable, or where intimacy is attainable but unsustainable. We will consider how to cultivate appropriate expectations for our relationships and practice godly interaction with others.
