In this editorial, David Powlison argues that problems, needs, and struggles of people must be rationally explained by categories found in the Bible. Powlison maintains that “lusts of the flesh” gives a broad explanatory category that helps explain the workings of the human heart in specific detail. Powlison concludes that although our desires control our actions, Christ has power over our desires.
