In this article, Adams advocates for good preaching as a way to cultivate expertise in “preventative spiritual medicine.” Adams maintains that preaching the whole counsel of God is a vital part of “preparing God’s people for works of service” (Eph. 4:12) and minimizing the amount of time a pastor will have to spend in corrective private counseling. Adams then moves into an extensive discussion of the primacy of teaching and the procedure of teaching.
