In this editorial, David Powlison introduces a special issue of the JBC that deals with apologetics and interaction with individuals that have been psychologized. Powlison notes current challenges to the modern church that come from “secular practical theologies” as well as searching and sophisticated criticisms of the field of psychology. Powlison asks the question, how do we reach psychologized people? He concludes that we must want to in the first place, must put ourselves in their shoes and articulate biblical truth with the gentleness enjoined by 1 Peter 3:15.
