In this article, Rich Ganz answers the question “What does it mean to have self-control, if God is supposed to be in control and if it’s sin to try to be in control?” Ganz argues that the attempt to completely control your own life is sinful. At the same time, there is a legitimate control over our lives that we are supposed to exercise. He maintains that a take charge process is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, as opposed to making excuses, indulging oneself or passivity. Ganz concludes that God calls us to take charge and has given us the power to do it.
