In this brief editorial, Jay Adams provides some basic ways to assess whether a counseling system is truly biblical. Many counselors today claim to be doing biblical counseling, but do so in name only. Adams uses a simple question to evaluate any system of counseling: Is the system constructed out of biblical materials according to biblical principles? He concludes that examining this question can lead to greater discernment in evaluating various approaches to counseling.
