In this editorial, David Powlison argues that Scripture offers us much more than rote description. He maintains that biblical counseling, therefore, needs to offer more than just a lifeless caricature of the realities of life in God’s world. Powlison addresses the question of why and how we help others as well as where are the natural settings for seeking and finding help. Powlison concludes that local churches flourish as they become places where wise counseling flourishes.
