In this article, William Farley agues that humility is not self-hatred or lack of self-confidence, but rather the ability to see oneself, and this world, through God’s eyes. He maintains that God esteems those who are humble and contrite in spirit. Farley concludes that God dwells with the humble and that if we pursue God, we will find humility.
