In this article, Carl Bogue reflects on how his doctoral studies have assisted him in pastoral ministry. Bogue argues that, although more knowledge is no guarantee of communication, the additional resources can benefit a teaching elder in his ministry. He ends with a discussion of our stewardship of our whole being, including our intellect, as being vital to fulfilling the Great Commission and expanding Christ’s kingdom.
