A Slice of Life

Journal of Biblical Counseling 24:4

In this editorial, David Powlison offers an anecdote of a young mother’s angry response to her young son in a supermarket as a “slice of life” that captures the essence of irrational, sinful anger. The little boy, targeted by his mother’s sin, sins in return. A cycle begins and continues. Such anger is evil, wrong, and destructive. Powlison argues that there is another kind of anger—righteous anger—that leads to a solution and begins at the feet of Jesus.
