A Model for Preaching: Part II

Journal of Biblical Counseling 13:1

Part 2 of a 3 part series. In this article, Timothy Keller examines the situational aspect of preaching. Keller discusses the role that the receiver has in biblical communication and introduces the topic of adaptation. He proceeds to give numerous practical ideas on how to understand hearers and their various conditions, and how to do application. Keller concludes that application is not a supplement to be added at the end of preaching, rather, application is preaching. Part 1 is in JBC 12:3, Part 2 in JBC 13:1 and Part 3 in JBC 13:2.
