Lane maintains that public ministry of the Word and general application from the pulpit is just the beginning of ministry of the Word. Lane tells the story of a young woman who had an eating disorder (and other problems), and a history of working with other doctors and counselors to resolve her problems. Together they explored the numerous passages of suffering people in the Bible and found the suffering Redeemer, the One who could help her make sense of her life.
