Menopause and Depression

Journal of Biblical Counseling 7:3

In this article, Michael Bobick discusses the relationship between menopause and depression. He examines the biological aspects of menopause, psychological aspects of menopause and sociocultural aspects of menopause. Bobick concludes that there is no evidence that depression is the result of endocrine changes during menopause. Rather, depression during menopause is no different from depression in any other phase of life. He ends his article with counseling implications.
