Jay Adams
Journal of Biblical Counseling 9:1
In this article, Jay Adams discusses the use of biblical theology in preaching. Adams argues that many sermons use biblical theology to take the congregation on a journey throughout all of Scripture. These biblical-theological trips are like a one-week tour of Europe: very little time can be spent at any one location. Adams argues that the end result is that the emphasis is on the forest, not on the trees. He concludes that a preacher should be a biblical theologian just as he should be a systematic theologian.
