Counseling Children

Journal of Biblical Counseling 18:1

In this article Earl Cook and Paul Tripp argue that children have had a significant place in ministry. Cook and Tripp present conversations and key principles for counseling children. They maintain that children experience many, if not most, of the problems in living that adults are confronted with. The principles of Scripture are as valid for children as for adults. Cook and Tripp present four components of counseling children: First, establish a relationship, second, gather data, third, use the Bible well in teaching, and fourth, assign appropriate homework.
