Denise Allston-Wilson has been serving as the CCEF Evening Front Desk Receptionist for the past three years. She shared the following testimony at CCEF’s recent staff Christmas breakfast.
“CCEF means to me the following: C – Christian, C – Centered, E – Evangelical, F – Family.
Ed Welch was saying goodnight the other evening and asked how was I doing and how were things in my life. He specifically asked, ‘Are you growing?’ I mentioned to him that I was just talking to a friend about working here and how it it keeps me focused and centered on my daily walk with the Lord.
Being around Christian saints has truly been a blessing in my life. It has helped me through so many of life’s stressors, trials, and tribulations. I especially attribute the daily prayer sessions and the corporate quarterly prayer meetings that are led by David Powlison to some of my growth. Now, after working at CCEF for three years, I can feel a tremendous growth in my life from what it use to be. I always thank Cecelia Bernhardt for hiring me and taking a chance on a ‘silver haired senior citizen.’ Every day I thank the good Lord for his love, grace, mercy and favor.”
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:15-17 (NIV)
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” – Psalm 106:1 (NIV)
