Changing Hearts UK Conference

Not again! It keeps happening! Things never seem to change – why?

We all know change is difficult: in our families, in our churches and in our world. And the biggest change – change in the human heart – seems the most elusive change of all.

Which is why Changing Hearts is addressing exactly that issue. 

We have the power of God for salvation in the gospel; communities of believers who want to see God at work, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Yet when we want to bring the gospel to bear on everyday problems we are at a loss. Where do we turn – friends, pastors, doctors, therapists? Whose job is it to help us change? 

For over 40 years, the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF) have been setting the pace in biblical counselling. Taking the gospel we know, they show how it can be applied to individuals and churches to bring about lasting change. Their approach has helped many churches find a new ministry of the same gospel they’ve always believed in. 

We are delighted to welcome David Powlison and Tim Lane for this first national conference with CCEF in the UK. David brings a wealth of experience in pastoral counselling to help us understand how pastoral care has been affected by the ‘therapy revolution’ and how to rediscover confidence in the ‘cure of souls’. Tim Lane is co-author of How People Change, a practical guide to the transforming work of God. As President of CCEF he will show how biblical counselling can, and should, be a core ministry in our churches. 

With interest in Christian counselling growing, Changing Hearts will launch a new biblical counselling network in the UK to help more people profit from CCEF’s approach.
